”Formosa 3 is an offshore wind project planned off the coast of Changhua county on the central-western coast of Taiwan, jointly developed by Corio Generation and TotalEnergies.

On 5^th August 2024 the Government announced the award of grid capacity to the Formosa 3 project through its Round 3.2 auction. Since then, efforts have been ongoing to identify the path to viable deployment in the context of a joint delivery of the Round 3.1 and 3.2 projects.

A spokesperson said: “We're pleased to confirm that Formosa 3 has submitted the Administrative Contract (AC) to Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs for an additional 360MW on Site 11 in the Round 3.2 grid connection award. While we recognize the currently challenging environment for the industry, we look forward to continuing to make progress on the project in cooperation with the government, the supply chain and community stakeholders.”
