OVERVIEW OF THE CHANGHUA OFFSHORE WIND POWER SCIENCE CAMP ORGANIZED BY NATIONAL TAIWAN UNIVERSITY

In early August 2019, National Taiwan University Department of Engineering Science and Ocean Engineering and Ship and Ocean Technology Research Center held a 3-day science camp at National Changhua Girls’ Senior High School, which caught the attention of 60 high school students who are interested in offshore wind power sector. The camp was attended by a number of lecturers who gave lectures, instructed on practical tasks and led site visit. Formosa 3 is honored to have sponsored this activity. On the day of the closing ceremony, the principal warmly introduced the gorgeous campus and rich history and culture of National Changhua Girls’ Senior High School to us.

In recent years, offshore wind power has become an important development sector in Taiwan and pursues a wide range of talents. The wind farm off the coast of Changhua is blessed with excellent wind condition. Such local education helps depicting the future prospect of Changhua and nurturing local talents, which will encourage interested students to plan their study paths with offshore wind power in mind.

The science camp provides opportunities for local students to understand more on offshore wind power and potentially become Taiwan's future green sector talents!
